Kacey Musgraves and Hayley Williams cover of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun has united horse girls and pop punk kids everywhere

Kacey Musgraves is currently on tour supporting her album (of the year) Golden Hour - on her Oh What a World Tour - and this week kicked off a four-night residency at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.  Musgraves surprised fans by bringing a special guest on stage - fellow Grammy winner and former Tennessean - Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams.

The two belted out a cover of Cyndi Lauper hit “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” ... sure seems like they were having a lot of fun in the process ... check the video and pics below:

Hear 3 unreleased Green Day tracks from the band's earliest days [VIDEO]

Bay area pop punk band Green Day formed in 1986 and released their debut that year - 39/smooth ... since then - the band has released 11 more albums, sold 85 million of them, won 5 Grammy Awards, had an album adpated to a Broadway prodcution, and was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ...

And now - thanks to the magic of the internet - we have live video recordings of three Green Day songs that were never releaed on albums ...

The songs pre-date the punk icons’ debut album ’39/Smooth’, and were recorded live at the band’s opening gig for Killdozer at Berkeley Square on July 22, 1989.

Check out ‘Stay’, ‘Maybe Forever’ and ‘Jennifer’ below.

Talk About A Supergroup - Members of Foo Fighters and Soundgarden have reportedly joined forces

We love it when members of some of our favorite bands get together to form supergroups ... but we're REALLY excited to learn that Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, and Melvins guitarist Buzz Osborne have teamed up to create a new trio. The rock titans shared videos of their work together in the studio.

Apparently the trio got together after the Chris Cornell tribute concert last month.

The trio have shared a few teaser video clips so far ... here's hoping that this turns into something more substantial -

Houses' Video for Fast Talk is Equally as Infectious as the Song [WATCH]

It's hard to determine what our favorite line is from Fast Talk - the infectious new single from Houses ...

Could it be- So maybe heaven is a ghetto with no bad blocks

Or - 'Cause karma’s just a different word for bad luck

Possibly - Maybe God is just a Cop that we can fast talk

Whatever it is - Dexter Tortoriello - aka Houses - has released a video that's equally hypnotizing as the song ...

George Clinton and Red Hot Chili Peppers Jam on Give It Away [VIDEO]

George Clinton's relationship with the Red Hot Chili Peppers goes back decades ... three to be exact...the funk legend produced their 1985 sophomore album, Freaky Styley ...  he also joined the band for a performance of “Higher Ground” when they were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ...

And with Clinton  on his final tour with Parliament Funkadelic, it’s makes sense that  he’s spending some of the tour the Chili Peppers.

At a recent show in Sydney, Australia -  Clinton joined RHCP on stage to perform “Give It Away”. The Peppers responded on IG - commemorating the performance with “NOTHIN BUT THE DOG IN YA  #GEORGECLINTON”. Check out some video of the performance below

Talk Talk's Mark Hollis has reportedly passed away

Mark Hollis, frontman for Talk Talk, has reportedly died.  He was 64 years old.

There has no official statement from the family or the band - but word spread after The The sent out the following tweet:

The band Talk Talk is most noted for their songs - “It’s My Life,” “Life is What You Make it,” “Dum Dum Girl,”

Others have joined in sharing their condolences via social media:

Rivers Cuomo plays out his Mister Rogers fantasies in a new music video

Now that the novelty of the teal album has passed - the Weezer Rebel Alliance has shifted their focus to The Black Album - due out March 1st .. and today the band shared two tracks from the forthcoming record, “High as a Kite” and “Living in LA” ... the video for "Living in LA" keeps with The Black Album theme ... while one has to wonder if they were high as a kite when they conceptualized the video for "High as a Kite" - which features the band in a  Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood parody, reset as Mister Rivers’ Neighborhood ... check out both videos below :

Watch the Brilliant Video for Vampire Weekend's 'Harmony Hall'

OK ... so we dont have a release date ... or a local concert date (besides the headlining spot at Firefly) ... but here's what we DO know about Vampire Weekend's 2019 plans ... at some point they will release the album Father of the Bride.  We've heard two tracks from it - 2021 and Harmony Hall.

And now we have an official video for Harmony Hall ... it was directed by

Emmett Malloy and features Danielle Haim, Jonah Hill, Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), and Ariel Rechtshaid... plus Ezra Koenig cooking pancakes and of course - a snake

The Cure Celebrating Disintegration's 30th anniversary by play it in full at upcoming live shows

2019 is shaping up to be a good year for fans of The Cure....

They will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 29th.

They've announced a bunch of tour dates ... nothing in the US ... yet ;)

And in honor of it being the 30th Anniversary year of the release of Disintegration (their best record?)

via GIPHY

They have announced that they will be playing the record in full ... that's the good news ...

The bad news - for those of us fans in the United States - is that these shows are in Austrailia ...

The band will be celebrating that landmark by playing it live in full at four shows, as part of Sydney, Australia’s Vivid LIVE festival series on May 24, 25, 27 & 28 at the Sydney Opera House.

According to lead singer Robert Smith - “Vivid LIVE is a wonderful international event.  Our Reflections shows in 2011 were truly memorable experiences, and with the excitement surrounding those early album performances in mind, we are more than delighted to be announcing our return in May 2019 to present the world premiere of Disintegration – 30th Anniversary.”

So - unless you have some disposable income laying around  (or a surplus of Qantas Airlines points)  - we'll have to wait for some US dates to be announced ...

Dave Grohl on the Foo Fighters breaking up: "It's like your grandparents getting divorced. It's not gonna f*ckin' happen"

Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters have had to postpone some upcoming shows as the frontman recovers from arm surgery.

At this week’s Pollstar Live conference in Los Angeles, Dave revealed he had surgery on his arm last week - “This is something I’ve had to deal with for a long time and it’s not the end of the world but I did have to have surgery on my arm because I need it to pay the rent”

 Dave continued -

“It’s funny having surgery because you actually get a little bit of rest.  Right before they wheeled me in [for surgery] the guys said ‘hey, we’re going to give you something that’s going to make you feel really good’ and I thought I finally get to take a nap.”

The nap was needed - especially since Grohl says the Foos have no plans to slow down.

“For the first twenty years of our band it was, let’s make another record and that’s probably going to do it. Let’s get one more in there and call it a day,” Grohl said. “Then it gets to the point to where I refer to it like imagine your grandparents getting a divorce. I’m sure it happens sometimes, but why? You can’t break up. Who even cares any more? Just go play shows.”

At a recent concert in in Atlanta, Dace also was on record saying -“I don’t know when y’all are gonna see us again, but you will… because we’re too f*ckin’ old to break up. It’s like your grandparents getting divorced. It’s not gonna f*ckin’ happen.”

Danny Boyle's new film imagines a world without The Beatles [WATCH]

Imagine this scenario ... you're a struggling singer-songwriter who, after a global blackout and freak bus accident, becomes the only person on Earth to remember The Beatles ... what would you do?

If you're Jack Malik (played by Himesh Patel) in the movie Yesterday - you'd claim the entire catalog as your own and launch yourself into stardom by playing songs like “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” and “Something.”

As if it was only that simple though - in the movie Jack struggles with the fact that his new stardom is not based on his own creativity.

The movie, directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) hits theaters June 28th ... check out the first trailer below.

Watch Gin Blossoms Cover the Radiohead Classic - Fake Plastic Trees

The Gin Blossoms are on the road this spring- touring in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their biggest album, New Miserable Experience.  They recently played Baltimore Soundstage and ended the show with a cover of another 90s hit - Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees.

The band stopped by the Paste Studios recently and perfromed the cover as well - check out the video below

After trashing an entire convenience store, woman buys some Pringles and leaves

We've all had THOSE days ... those days where you've had enough and seem ready to snap ... well, that day came last week for a a 24-year-old Newark resident ... who took her frustations out on the merchandise inside the QuickChek on Bergen Street in Harrison ... The destruction seemed to calm her down (momentarily) - as she calmly purchased some Pringles and a Vitamin Water before speeding out of the parking lot ...

FYI - WRNR does not condone this type of behavior amd recommend trying some differnet forms of stress release ... learn how at our Holistic Health Fair on 2/16 at the Hotel Annapolis

Weezer Cast Finn Wolfhard To Star in Video for Take on Me Cover [WATCH]

So a few weeks back, Weezer dropped a surprise album of cover songs - including their rendition of Africa by Toto.  The Teal Album, as it has been dubbed, included the bands take on a wide range of music - from Michael Jackson's Billie Jean to Black Sabbath's Paranoid ... the album also included the band's version of a-ha's Take On Me ... and now the band has released a video for the track - starring Finn Wolfhard, star of Stranger Things and It ... and members of his indie band Calpurnia, playing the ’80s teenage version of a living room band ... check it out - it's pretty great!

Frank Zappa is touring as a hologram and will appear in Baltimore

Because the world isn't bizarre enough these days - someone has decided to currate a tour with a Frank Zappa hologram .... ok....  the show will feature hours of never-before-seen Zappa performance footage.

Acording to Frank's son Ahmet - his father was a “hologram enthusiast”

“My father and I actively discussed 3D and ‘holography’ and it was a concept he actively engaged in. He actually devoted half a chapter of The Real Frank Zappa Book (1990) to this subject. This is a love letter and a journey celebrating the genius artistry of Frank Zappa. On a personal note, I feel like I am finishing something my father started years ago.”

Mockingbird - New Music from Wild Belle (Official Video)

We always love getting emails from old friends - especially when they're great musicians .. and the email talks about the new album they have coming out and that they will be touring soon ...

So we were stoked to hear from Elliot and Natalie from Wild Belle  ... they sent us the video for their new song Mockingbird (see below) hinted at a tour ... and said "Our session at Ram's Head was one of the more memorable sessions we've done, and we look forward to doing more with you in the future!" <3  We're gonna keep them to that!

Watch a New Order Performance of Ceremony from 1981

It's no doubt that New Order is one of the most influential bands from the 1980s ... but one of their first singles, Ceremony, was actually written prior to the band's existence.  It was by Joy Division (which disbanded in 1980 following Ian Curtis's suicide and led to the formation of New Order) .

New Order's debut album, Movement, is about to get a deluxe reissue and ahead of the release the band has been circulating some rare footage of their early shows- including this performance of "Ceremony," recorded live at Manchester's CoManCHE Student Union.

Actor Paul Rudd rocked out at Foo Fighters' Super Bowl pre-party [VIDEO]

Quite often on this blog you find us highlighting the crazy things Dave Grohl does on and off stage ... but for the first time - we're turing the tide and sharing someone in the audience going nuts ... Actor Paul Rudd was in Atlanta for last weekend's Foo Fighters Super Saturday Show and was caught on film ROCKING THE F**K OUT ... as one should at a Foo Fighters show ... too bad he wasn't invited on stage to do a little - slappin of da bass

Jurassic Fraud: The Fyre Festival x Jurassic Park Mashup Mockumentary You Didn't Know You Needed!

By know you should have heard of the disaster that was (supposed to be) the Fyre Festival - the 2017 failed "luxury music festival" tha was to take place on a remote tropical island ... maybe you've even seen the documentaries exposing the festival organizers as Frauds ... there's Fyre Fraud on HULU and Fyre on Netflix ...

Well now - someone (possibly with too much time on their hands) at Nerdist has made a mash up mockumentary - called Jurassic Fraud - mixing the docuimentaries an the classic film Jurassic Park ... its only 2:45 - but totally worth your time :)

Watch Kacey Musgraves, Dave Matthews and more honor Willie Nelson at Grammy celebration

You may have never heard of the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing’s annual Grammy Week Celebration ... but Wednesday night's celebration of the men and women behind the music was a star studded affair - with Willie Nelson being honored.   The 85 year old took the stage - and brought some friends along too ... first he was joined by his Promise of the Real, his sons' Lukas and Micah Nelson and Lukas’s band.

Later he was joined by Grammy Album of the Year nominee Kacey Musgraves, veteran country songwriter and producer Buddy Cannon, and surprise guest Dave Matthews.  Of course camera phones were rolling (pardon the pun) so we can all enjoy the performances
