Cage The Elephant Release 'Ready to Let Go' From Their Long-Awaited New Album,

They teased us for a few weeks with IG stories and cryptic posts .. but today at 8am - Cage the Elephant (finally) released 'Ready to Let Go', the first single from  ‘Social Cues’ - the long awaited follow up album to Tell Me I'm Pretty ..  check out the video below and let us know what you think ... worth the wait?

According to Matt Schultz, the album was written during a break up:

“It can be a vehicle to act out things that are hard to confront. When I’m creating, I try to put myself in a reactive state of improvisational thought. I let images just arise in my mind and wait for it to evoke an emotional response and then when it does, I know I’m on to something. I was watching a lot of Fassbinder films, like World On A Wire and The Bitter Tears Of Petra Von Kant. I was thinking about their beauty coupled with the graphic surrealism of Aronofsky.”

Here's  the album art and track listing for Social Cues, due out April 19

1. “Broken Boy”
2. “Social Cues”
3. “Black Madonna”
4. “Night Running” (feat. Beck)
5. “Skin And Bones”
6. “Ready To Let Go”
7. “House Of Glass”
8. “Love’s The Only Way”
9. “The War Is Over”
10. “Dance Dance”
11. “What I’m Becoming”
12. “Tokyo Smoke”
13. “Goodbye”

Social Cues is out 4/19 via RCA Records. Pre-order it here.

And as we mentioned - Franti was on the cover of USA Today this week as well, give the article a read HERE

Video Proof that Marylanders love us some Maryland

If there's one thing Marylanders love ... it's Maryland.  If you're a Marylander - chances are you own something with the Maryland flag on it, believe there's only one REAL Ocean City, you've picked a crab or two, you scream O during the National Anthem, bragged about going to high school with some A, B, C, or even D list celebrities  ... you know the deal ... well the Baltimore-based comedy team Krewski has put together a video that encapsulates Maryland Pride to a tee  - in a hilarious 5 minutes and 48 seconds

Green Day auctioning off their gear, including mud-stained Woodstock

Looking for a gift idea for that Green Day fan in your life?  Or maybe you're an 'Idiot Club' member looking to treat yo'self ... well - you're in luck ... the band has announced that they will be selling off a bunch of the gear they've used over their 25 year career via an online Reverb store

The sale begins February 7 but you can browse the goods now ... including speaker cabinets from Woodstock ’94 that are still marked from the mud fight, drums from the Pop Disaster Tour that Tre Cool set on fire, a guitar used on Dookie, and much more. Here’s what the band had to say about the sale:

Next month, Dookie will turn 25 years old, and Armstrong will part with a special Harmony Stella Parlor acoustic—the first guitar he ever owned and the one he used to record the album track “F.O.D.” A few more of the 44 guitars available will be a 1960 and 1961 Gibson Les Paul Junior, a ‘57 and ’58 Les Paul Special, as well as two BJA Signature Les Paul Juniors, a BJA Signature Les Paul Special, and a BJA Signature Gibson ES-137 modeled after others in his collection.

As mentioned above, Armstrong is also selling the Marshall 4×12 cabinets used on the tours to support Dookie and Insomniac, which still have the marks of Woodstock ‘94 atop numerous coats of spray paint.

In the video above, Tre Cool explains why he’s letting go of kits like the Gretsch USA Custom he used on the Uno!, Dos!, Tré! trilogy of albums and a Leedy White Marine Pearl Kit with matching snare he used on the band’s 21st Century Breakdown tour.

“If you hoard the right shit long enough, they call you a collector. So I’m selling off just a wee bit of the collection. I’m not doing it any justice sitting around when someone could be using this stuff. I haven’t really sold anything ever—this is the first time,” he says. “I”m probably just going to buy all this stuff back at like three in the morning, because I’m going to have a hard time parting with it.”

On the band’s Pop Disaster tour, Cool set fire to a silver sparkle OCDP kit, which still retains soot and ash from the show. Over the years he says he also burned a bunch of Slingerland Spitfire Tre Cool Signature models, except from the NOS model on sale in the Reverb shop.

“It’s probably the only one left in existence. It’s brand new. New old stock, in the box,” he tells us. “I burned all the rest of them, in case you’re wondering.”

Bassist Mike Dirnt will be selling more than 20 pieces of studio gear and nearly a dozen amps, including a Mesa/Boogie Basis M-2000 he used from 1997 to 2003, primarily on the tours to support Nimrod and Warning. He’s also selling a vintage Ampeg SVT, SVTII Pros, and SVT Vacuum Tube DIs, as well as more gear from his personal studio.

St Vincent Covered Breaking the Girl by Red Hot Chili Peppers at a Malibu Benefit [VIDEO]

On Sunday January 13, 2019, Annie Clark aka St. Vincent performed at Malibu Love Sesh, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.  The show, a benefit for the victims of the Woolsey wildfire, featured a variety of performers who at some point in their life called California home.  St Vincent decided to pay tribute to the show's head liners - the Red Hot Chili Peppers by covering their 1992 hit, Breaking the Girl.

Whats more impressive?  She learned the song, with the help of RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, 20 minutes before taking the stage!  Now that's bada$$!!!

Watch the video for Land of the Free - the first single from The Killers' New Album [VIDEO]

Late in 2018 - The Killers were spotted in a recording studio - hinting that we might be getting new music from the Vegas rock outfit in 2019 ... well - good news/bad news -

Good news - the band released a new song this week - a politically charged anthem called Land of the Free ... the release was paired with a powerful video, directed by Spike Lee.  Check it out below.

Bad news -lead singer Brandon Flowers says we can't expect the new album until 2020 :/

So until then - enjoy Land of the Free

Listen to All Over Now - the First Single From The Cranberries' Final Album

One year to the date of the passing of Dolores O'Riordan, The Cranberries frontwoman's passing, the band has released the first single from what will be their final record.  The song, "All Over Now", is from the aptly titled album In The End - set to be released on April 26, 2019.

In a statement on facebook, band members Mike and Noel Hogan, and drummer Fergal Lawler said:

After Dolores’ devastating and unexpected passing in January 2018, we took some time out and put all plans on hold. As time passed, we began to think about how we might best honour our close friend and bandmate. This was a very painful process. We remembered how Dolores had been so energised by the prospect of making this record and getting back out on the road to play the songs live, and realised that the most meaningful thing to do was to finish the album we had started with her. We felt that this is what she would want. We spoke with Dolores’ family and they agreed.

It was a very emotional process for us. Knowing that we would never get to play these songs live made it even more difficult. There was also an overwhelming sense of finality knowing that this was the last time that we would be in the same studio together working on a Cranberries album.

They also added - "We dedicate this album to our dear friend and bandmate Dolores. She will always be with us in her music.”.

Drunk guy hijacks Foo Fighters show...Hilarity ensues [NSFW]

The Foo Fighters  have played one show so far in 2019, and it was a pretty wild affair.  The show, a private show at The Joint in the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, was part of the CES Convention.

During the show - video surfaced of Dave Grohl chugging a beer and falling off stage

Now we have video of a (drunk?) fan hijacking the stage and jamming with the band as they covered ‘Stay With Me’ by The Faces.

Dave seemed throughly entertained by Jay from Bombay ... at one point he was literally ROTFL.

Check out the hilarious video:

Dave Grohl chugs beer, falls off stage [VIDEO]

You NEVER know what you'll experience at a Foo Fighters show ... at a recent private performance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Foos frontman Dave Grohl made his way over to the bar mid set, ordered a beer, chugged said beer, and then fell off the stage while making his way back up.

Dave Grohl - loves beer, hates gravity. Hey, at least he didn’t break his leg again

Lana Del Rey plans to release new music and a book in 2019

Lana Del Ray may have had to cancel some upcoming concerts - but she is making up for it in the form of new releases ... both in music and a book of poetry!

LDR posted on Instagram:

Happy New Year to everyone.
I hope you enjoy the new song I’m putting out on the ninth
it’s called ‘hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have- but i have it’
Also as of last week I finished a short book of poetry I’ve been writing over the last 13 months that I’ll be putting out later.
In the meantime though I’d like to apologize in advance for upcoming cancellations of shows you’ll be hearing about– I wish I could fulfill those obligations but I won’t be able to
Thanks

Paul McCartney Has Discovered Autotune on his Track Get Enough [LISTEN]

One of the first new musical releases of 2019 comes to us from one of the biggest names in music... Sir Paul McCartney!

The former Beatle released the track Get Enough via YouTube on January 1, 2019 ... rather quietly ... what's up with that?

The track, which has a heavy dose of AutoTune - is a collaboration with Zach Skelton and Ryan Tedder (One Republic).  While it sounds nothing like the music from 2017's Egypt Station ... its kinda growing on us.  Take a listen and let us know your thoughts.

And just in case you wanted to know how one of the world's biggest musicians discovers new music - he listens to the radio!  Hey Paul ... find us on Tunein :)
