Canines and Crosstreks - SPCA Adoptable Pet Profiles Archives for 2021-01

Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Rosie ( Beagle ), Spade ( American Pit Bull ) & Mr Peaches (Maine Coon)

This week we have our normal two pups featured on Canines and Crosstreks  SPCA of Anne Arundel County  Adoptable Pet Report sponsored Annapolis Subaru - plus a bonus feline - who is the size of a small dog!

Up first - meet Rosie-  an absolutely adorable 6.5 year old Beagle Mix

Rosie is a sweet soul looking for a cozy stable environment.

Rosie has previously lived with other dogs and cats but must be separated during meal time.

Next up - we have Spade - an 8 month old American Pit Bull

Spade is a fun and handsome puppy! He may look full grown, but he still has growing and learning to do!

Spade would do best in a home dedicated to training a young and strong dog without small children.

So maybe you've been reading these reports and thought - jeez - where's all the cats ?  Well - the report is called Canines and Crosstreks - so it focuses on dogs - but this week we are going to shout out a cat at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County - who is the size of a dog

Meet Mr. Peaches - a 16 year old Maine Coon - who's been at the shelter for nearly a year!

This big, hunky boy has a beautiful thick coat of fur and a heart of gold.   Mr Peaches has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. He deserves a warm and loving home for his golden years.  Because he is a senior feline, he can be a bit stubborn when it comes to his space. He would prefer a home without other animals.

And don't forget - if you adopt Mr. Peaches by the end of January - the adoption fee is only $21 (details below)

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt Rosie, Spade or Mr. Peaches today. Animal Viewing at the Main Shelter is available daily from 12pm to 3pm. Small animals and cats can be viewed at the Paws at the Mall boutique in the Annapolis Mall!  If you are interested in meeting or adopting an animal, you can find out more about our adoption process here. We appreciate your patience, as the Adoption Process will be delayed. All Animal Meet & Greets will be by scheduled appointment only after your Application has been processed.

So sure - this report is called Canines and Crosstreks - and we highlight dogs each week - but the SPCA of Anne Arundel County has plenty of other animals  that need furever home - and if you are looking for a feline friend in 2021 - take note!  Right now - all cats who are 7 years or older can be adopted for only $21 - and they come fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped!

Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Lisa ( Mixed Breed ) & Hunter Hand (Lab )

On this week's Canines and Crosstreks Adoptable Pet Report sponsored Annapolis Subaru we are featuring two dogs from the  SPCA of Anne Arundel County who are both having hard time finding a home  ... because they are both blind ... so will YOU be their guide dog?

Up first - Lisa - who is a testament to how amazing the SPCA of Anne Arundel County

Lisa - who as we mentioned is blind - was found as a stray in North Carolina and since their shelters were full, the SPCA of Anne Arundel County  brought  her to Annapolis and found her a foster family.

We believe Lisa is about 2 years old - she is as energetic as a puppy and LOVES human attention. She wants to play or be by your side no matter what. She doesn't let blindness slow her down, she is always up for a good lap around the yard! She is dog friendly but can sometimes be a bit overbearing, so living with a tolerant dog is possible. With her foster, she is working on leash manners, enjoying the occasional bath, and getting lots of love until she finds her forever family

Next up - we have Hunter Hank  - an Annopolitan Lab - who is also blind

Hunter Hank is an 11 years old fella who came to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County because his owner needed to move into assisted living

Hunter Hank is a little thrown off by being in the shelter - after 11 years in his  home a - but he is friendly as can be with new people and is always looking to make a new friend or two. Hunter Hank needs some time to learn the lay of the land in new surroundings - but is very well adapted to his condition. Like most labs, he is VERY food motivated. He also LOOOVES his squeaky toys and will happily entertain himself. Although he is happy, Hunter Hank belongs back in a home again and not at the shelter

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt Hunter Hank or Lisa  today. Animal Viewing at the Main Shelter is available daily from 12pm to 3pm. Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Handsome ( Terrier / Pit Bull ) & Sophie (Chinese Crested )

OK. Who's New Year's Resolution was to get a new pup?  Who didn't make a New Year's resolution to get a new pup - but still wants a new pup?  We got you with two cuties from the SPCA of Anne Arundel County on this week's Canines and Crosstrek Adoptable Pet Report sponsored Annapolis Subaru

Up first - Scout - a one month old  pit bull terrier  ... swoon!

Scout is an energetic, very confident little puppy. We don’t know how big he'll  get, but he already thinks he's larger than life. He currently lives in a foster home with dogs and cats. He really likes to play with new dog friends, but the interactions are supervised very closely because he's a little confident and likes to play rough with the adult, larger dogs in the home.

We're going to keep talking about Scout even though these pictures make him more adoptable than any words ...

Handsome is about as housebroken as a one month old pup can be.  He needs to go out a bit though being so young.  Speaking of being outside - he loves it! He loves running around, carring leaves and sticks and chasing the feet of humans :)  Right now he sleeps in a crate and spends his time in a play pen enclosure where he can see his dog, cat, and foster friends.  He is only a month old - so he will need to go to a home that will be able to continue his puppy training.

Next up - we have Sophie- a Chinese Crested

Sophie is a senior lady (11 years old) who found herself in need of a home when her owner passed away suddenly :(

Sophie knows how to sit, stay, and a few tricks for treats.  She  is housebroken but most importantly she is heartbroken.

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt Handsome or Sophie today. Animal Viewing at the Main Shelter is available daily from 12pm to 3pm.
