Canines and Crosstreks - SPCA Adoptable Pet Profiles Archives for 2020-12

Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Hunter ( Retriever / Lab Mix ) & Zeko (Retriever / Lab Mix )

Here they are - the final pups on the Canines and Crosstreks Adoptable Pet Report ...

...til next year (aka next week) ... C'mon - you know we love dogs and are going to keep sharing the cuties from the SPCA of Anne Arundel County's with the Canines and Crosstrek Adoptable Pet Report sponsored Annapolis Subaru   in 2021!

Up first - Hunter - a 4 year old lab / retriever mix

Hunter is an XL guy with an XL heart!

Hunter really loves his people and is an excellent pal.

He's  strong on leash and is not a big fan of other dogs, so he would be happiest as an only pet and would appreciate a fenced in yard where he can relax and play.

Next up - we have Zeko- another lab / retriever mix

Zeko is a senior gentleman (10 years old) but he's just as cute as a button with his gold coat and white markings.

Zeko is looking for an adult only household. Although he is still young at heart (he loves to carry around his toys!) He has some aches and pains in his old bones. He is ready to spend his days relaxing and soaking up the love in a forever home.

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt   Hunter or Zeko  today!

Last call for Lights on the Bay , the annual  2 mile display of holiday lights will be illuminating Sandy Point State Park through Sunday (Jan 2) ... being a drive through event makes Lights on the Bay  the perfect  way to celebrate the season while practicing proper social distancing!

Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Chase ( Short Coat Chihuahua ), Grumpy ( American Pit Bull ) & Garrabito Roger (Hound Dog)

A new pup is a great way to start a new year ...

...and here's a trio of dogs for the  SPCA of Anne Arundel County's Canines and Crosstrek Adoptable Pet Report sponsored Annapolis Subaru   that could help kick off your 2021 on the right foot!

Up first - Chase - a 2 year old short hair Chihuahua mix

Chase was brought into the SPCA of Anne Arundel County because his previous owner was moving.  He'd love to move in with a family of sports fans because besides going on walks around the neighborhood - he loves watching First Take on ESPN.

Next up - we have Garrabito Roger - a 6 year old hound mix

Boiling this pup down to two words is helpful when learning to understand Garrabito Roger. Hunting. Dog. GB embodies pretty much every characteristic of a textbook hunting dog.  Adventurous, hard-working, and trusting --- with a couple dashes of goofiness --- is a good way to begin unpacking this sophisticated yet simple (and special) pooch.

Roger is a smart guy with an amazingly sensitive nose. Of course, this is popular amongst hunting breeds, but what makes Roger different is his work ethic --- Roger LOVES to earn his kudos! Responsive to verbal praise, Roger's spirit gently lights up when he's caught doing something right. This is an important component for Roger's future --- his need to work and earn. If not given a regular "job", Roger is likely at risk of making one up on his own, which often backfires. He is also a confident, healthy guy who, while somewhat dominant in his personality, doesn't need a lot to gain his loyalty to follow you yet needs a strong leader.

Garrabito Roger will thrive in a home who wants to genuinely "rescue" him --- take him under his wing, learn his nuances and needs, and commit to helping him unfold in the wake of a confusing context. Because of his understandable prey drive, Roger needs a home with no cats or small animals in the home. An interest in nurturing his "nose skill" is highly encouraged. A second dog is possible and will be considered case-by-case after a dog introduction. Adult only house (no apratments or condos ) with no kids.

Next up - we have Grumpy  - a 4 month old Pit Bull

Grumpy is a serious cutie  - look at that face and try not not fall in love

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt  Grumpy, Garrabito Roger and Chase today!

This cutie pie  is a new arrival at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County and  an energetic lady who would do best in an active, single family home! She loves to go on walks with her humans and enjoy a nice belly rub afterwards.  But seriously - look at those eyes ... how can you resist having her in your life!

Next - we have Reba - a 10  year old short hair Chihuahua

Reba came to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County  recently and Reba is a sweet apple head chihuahua looking for a cozy home and a human's lap to burrow in.

Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Bitty ( Miniature Poodle/Schnauzer ) and Brianna ( American Pit Bull )

You know .... pups make great holiday gifts ... but you know what they say - ADOPT don't SHOP  - so instead of heading to the pet store for a pup - check out the pups at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County  - including the Bitty and Brianna -  this week's featured dogs on the  Annapolis Subaru Canines and Crosstreks Adoption Report

Up first - Brianna - a 13 year old  Miniature Poodle/Schnauzer mix

This cutie is a new arrival at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County

Not only is she cute - she is as sweet as can be  and would love to join your family this the holiday season.  Why now invite her into your home and share some holiday cheer with her!

Next - we have Brianna- a 2 year old American Pit Bull / Terrier  Mix

Brianna came to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County after her entire family was displaced by a terrible house fire.

She is a very sweet and strong brindle pit mix. She does well with other dogs and children according to her previous owners!

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt  Bitty and Brianna today!

Canines & Crosstreks Adoptable Pets of the Week - Boss ( Short Coat Chihuahua ) and Apollo ( Cane Corso )

The great thing about pups - is there is so much variety in their breeds and personalities - there is surly the right one for everyone.  This week on the  Annapolis Subaru Canines and Crosstreks Adoption Report, we look at two pups at  the SPCA of Anne Arundel County  who are polar opposites  - one small and mighty and the other a gentle giant.

Up first - Comet -  a seven year old  Short Coat Chihuahua

Not only is Comet quite handsome - he is small but mighty. He can clear hurdles in a single leap, and jump from the ground right into your arms. Comet is very intelligent and he loves to learn. He knows a lot of tricks and would be happy to show them off for you. In typical chihuahua fashion he bonds deeply to his person and can be protective at times. Once he gets to know you, he will be a loyal and loving best friend.

He will do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who can handle his quirks and be committed to him as he gets adjusted to a new life and new routine. Comet is not a fan of felines, so should not go to a home with cats. Comet has been in play groups while at the shelter with other smaller dogs.

Next - we have Apollo- a 2 year old Cane Corso

Apollo is a sweet young man! He knows sit but is still working on his leash manners as he's very strong! He came in with some problems with his eyes that should be resolved soon with surgery and daily meds. Apollo is a big love bug who would love to join your home!

Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt Comet or Apollo today!
