On this week's Canines and Crosstreks Adoptable Pet Report sponsored Annapolis Subaru we are featuring two dogs from the SPCA of Anne Arundel County who are both having hard time finding a home ... because they are both blind ... so will YOU be their guide dog?
Up first - Lisa - who is a testament to how amazing the SPCA of Anne Arundel County
Lisa - who as we mentioned is blind - was found as a stray in North Carolina and since their shelters were full, the SPCA of Anne Arundel County brought her to Annapolis and found her a foster family.
We believe Lisa is about 2 years old - she is as energetic as a puppy and LOVES human attention. She wants to play or be by your side no matter what. She doesn't let blindness slow her down, she is always up for a good lap around the yard! She is dog friendly but can sometimes be a bit overbearing, so living with a tolerant dog is possible. With her foster, she is working on leash manners, enjoying the occasional bath, and getting lots of love until she finds her forever family
Next up - we have Hunter Hank - an Annopolitan Lab - who is also blind
Hunter Hank is an 11 years old fella who came to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County because his owner needed to move into assisted living
Hunter Hank is a little thrown off by being in the shelter - after 11 years in his home a - but he is friendly as can be with new people and is always looking to make a new friend or two. Hunter Hank needs some time to learn the lay of the land in new surroundings - but is very well adapted to his condition. Like most labs, he is VERY food motivated. He also LOOOVES his squeaky toys and will happily entertain himself. Although he is happy, Hunter Hank belongs back in a home again and not at the shelter
Why not make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt Hunter Hank or Lisa today. Animal Viewing at the Main Shelter is available daily from 12pm to 3pm. Small animals and cats can be viewed at the Paws at the Mall boutique in the Annapolis Mall! If you are interested in meeting or adopting an animal, you can find out more about our adoption process here. We appreciate your patience, as the Adoption Process will be delayed. All Animal Meet & Greets will be by scheduled appointment only after your Application has been processed.
So sure - this report is called Canines and Crosstreks - and we highlight dogs each week - but the SPCA of Anne Arundel County has plenty of other animals that need furever home - and if you are looking for a feline friend in 2021 - take note! Right now - all cats who are 7 years or older can be adopted for only $21 - and they come fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped!
