Day one at Firefly has come to a close, and RNR is here to provide you with a recap of all of the day's happenings. Things are just getting started here over at The Woodlands, and we are about as excited as that guy who was running around in the pizza suit, eating a slice from Pizza Nova. In other words...we are very excited for the weekend!
Thursday Highlights:
Maggie Rogers
Maggie is one of our favorite new artists, and for good reason! Her set on Thursday evening was her first festival set...ever. And she certainly did not disappoint! Her performance was filled with so much energy, and her excitement to be playing Firefly was genuine. We may be biased because she's got local roots - she grew up playing banjo on a farm in rural Easton - but she's also got an incredible set of pipes, and we are so excited to see what's next for Maggie. We predict big things! Maggie is also our official RNR Firefly Correspondent, scroll down to check out her interview with Carrie.
Fort Firefly
Each year of Firefly brings a new sculptural installation to The Woodlands. And 2017 is the year of Fort Firefly: A climbable structure made out of shipping containers, that features painted murals, and offers a favorable view of the Lawn Stage. One can only hope we make it through the weekend without any excited festival-goers falling off!
