At the Video Music Awards next month (yes - they still exist) MTV will award its first ever “U.S. Global Icon Award” ... and before you ask - no, it is not going to Rob Dyrdek for his amazing work with Ridiculousness - it's going to Foo Fighters.

 

 

Dave and company will be honored for their “unparalleled career and continued impact” as well as their influence which has “maintained a unique level of global success in music and beyond.”

 

 

The VMAs will take place on Sept. 12 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where Foo Fighters will accept the award and perform.
