*Traditionally* the day after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year- with thousands of people flocking to big box stores to get Black Friday deals on everything from socks to big screen TVs.

This unofficial holiday has been met with another day of shopping – focusing on local businesses though – with shoppers encouraged to support locally owned and operated businesses in their communities the following day – Small Business Saturday
Annapolis is a community made up of 100+ boutiques, shops, bars, restaurants, galleries and more – that all need our support this holiday season – and just so happened to be the backdrop for the Small Business Saturday feature on NBC’s The Today Show … with a special nod to The Boatyard’s crab cakes -that had us wanting one for Breakfast … no judgment
So if you can – please shop local this holiday season – many Annapolis businesses have extended their hours, plus Downtown Annapolis Partnership still has three (scaled back) Midnight Madness events planned – with businesses staying open til midnight the first three Thursdays in December. If you aren’t comfortable coming downtown to shop in person – DAP has an extensive list of links to our local businesses that offer online shopping as well - SHOP HERE
So remember this holiday season – Shop Small, Shop Local, Shop Annapolis
