Jack White was a last minute fill in as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this week (October 10, 2020) - and the third man decided to dedicate his performance from 30 Rock to  Eddie Van Halen - who passed away this week from cancer at the age of 65.

White announced the tribute earlier in the day - posting a picture of the cobalt blue guitar, designed by Van Halen that he would play later that night - noting 'he wouldn't insult the man's talent by trying to play one of this songs..'

i thought it could be a nice gesture for me to use this blue eddie van halen model guitar for one of the songs tonight on SNL. the guitar was designed by eddie (with a few customizations i had added). eddie was very kind to me and saw to it that this guitar was made for me to my specs. i wont even insult the man’s talent by trying to play one of his songs tonight. thanks again eddie for this guitar and rest in peace sir.
