The Navy's Blue Angels and the Air Force's Thunderbirds set to fly over Baltimore Saturday as part of Healthcare Heroes Day

Governor Larry Hogan has designated Saturday, May 2 as Healthcare Heroes Day in Maryland - honoring doctors, nurses, medical workers, and first responders. 

 

Flags will fly at half staff, the State House Dome, Camden Yards, and M&T Bank Stadium, will be lit up blue, and the Navy’s Blue Angels and Air Force’s Thunderbirds will flyover the state to honor first responders and health care workers.

 

 

 

Details are forthcoming on the flyover   - but viewers are encouraged to to watch the flyover from the safety of their home-quarantine and to refrain from traveling to see the flyover.  

 

At his press conference, Gov. Hogan said:

 

We’re going to be asking all Marylanders to join us in lighting up the state of Maryland blue to show our immense gratitude to these men and women who truly are the definition of Maryland strong"

 

The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds have already flown over New York City  and Philadelphia this week as a to salute frontline COVID-19 responders.
