Fashion designer and Annapolis Native Christian Siriano is making free face masks to aid coronavirus outbreak relief efforts

What started as a simple tweet offering some help by fashion designer, Project Runway star, and Annapolis, MD native Christian Siriano - has turned into an all hands on deck effort by designers and makers to help supply masks for hospital personnel.

Siriano reached out to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo via Twitter, offering the assistance of his sewing staff to help make face masks for medical workers:

The public exchange inspired others to offer their services as well

SIrano tweeted out a picture of the prototypes he is working on and says they will have more details in the following days

Locally, Baltimore's Open Works - a non-profit 501(c)(3) maker space  -  announced that they had been contacted by local hospitals to use their resources to help make protective equipment for health workers.  They in turn reached out to the community to help amass the resources needed to make the items.  Anyone interested in helping should volunteer HERE.
