17 years after joining forces, legendary Canadian roots rockers The Band decided to call it quits ... with a lavish farewell show at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom - on Nov. 25, 1976. The show was filmed by Martin Scorsese, and is considered one of greatest concert films and soundtracks of all time. To this day - musicians still gather to recreate the original show featured Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr, Muddy Waters, Dr. John, Paul Butterfield, Ronnie Wood and more.
The show went until 2am - with the Holland-Dozier-Holland classic, “Don’t Do It (Baby, Don’t You Do It)” being the last song the classic lineup would ever play live.
