While we have been digging the musical output of Beck's Paisley Park Sessions (including an amazing Prince medley) - some other Prince news has emerged - footage of the first-ever performance of his iconic song ‘Purple Rain’ 

 

The footage is from sometime around 1983 and was shot at the famed Minneapolis venue - First Avenue.
