Headlining two of Europe's biggest festivals, Reading and Leeds, would be enough for the average rock star. But Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters are not your average rock stars.
Their epic weekend started at the Leeds festival, where the band headlined for the 7th (!) time ... mid way into their set, the band covered Queen's Under Pressure. This version, with Dave on drums and Taylor Hawkins on vocals has become routine for their sets- but on this night, the band pulled a fan out of the crowd who was decked out in Freddie Mercury’s trademark yellow jacket and white pants with the red and gold line down the side, to join them on stage!
Later in the set - a special moment for Dave Grohl - as he brought out his daughter Violet to perform the song My Hero with the band
“This has been a special trip for me because on this trip we have a new Foo Fighter in the band with us...Let me tell you something—she is the best fu**ing singer I know...Ladies and gentlemen, the best singer in the Grohl family: Miss Violet Grohl right now, right here.”
Later in the weekend - while performing Run during the band's Reading headline set - Dave paid homage to the late Keith Flint - frontman of The Prodigy
“I wanna keep singing with you ... I wanna sing this one for Keith from The Prodigy ... Let me tell you something. I remember playing here with The Prodigy, 2009. That was the craziest shit I’ve ever seen,”
