Morrissey kicked off his seven night residency at last night (5/2) at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in New York City (one show down – only six left to not be cancelled :P )

 

The show’s set list (see below) ranged from Smiths songs to songs from his throughout his 30+ year solo career.  You can still get tickets to catch Moz at Merriweather Post Pavilion with Interpol on September 5.

Meanwhile, the night before – across the Hudson River – former Smiths’ guitar player Johnny Marr also kicked off his US tour at New Jersey’s Wellmont Theatre.  Marr’s set list was also Smith cover laden – including a covers of “How Soon Is Now”.  “The Headmaster Ritual,” “Bigmouth Strikes Again,” “Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me,” “How Soon is Now,” “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” and “You Just Haven’t Earned it Yet Baby.”
