Cal Jam '18, the music festival organizes by Foo Fighters, goes down this weekend in San Bernardino, CA ... and this week, the band has been dropping some hints that would lead one to believe that there could be a special treat for those in attendence ...
Here's what we know:
All three surviving members of Nirvana will be at the festival - Pat Smear and Dave Grohl will perform with Foo Fighters and Krist Novoselic's band Giants in the Trees are also on the bill. Also on the bill are Deer Tick and Joan Jett ... Deer Tick's John McAuley and Jett served as two of the vocalists during the Nirvana's set at the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
Here's where it gets interesting via some cryptic tweets:
First, the Foo Fighters twitter responded to the news that Joan Jett's new documentary will be screened at the festival with: "Can't wait ...What else could we have up our sleeves???” Stay tuned….”
The band later posted footage from Jett performing with the surviving Nirvana members at a 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony after party in 2014 with the caption “This is a Jam @caljamfest #CalJam18” ... The post was retweeted by the official Nirvana account as well ...
Finally - Foo Fighters shared a 2nd video of the after party ... this time with the caption “…anyone got @joanjett’s number ??”
So will the reunion go down this weekend? We can't say for sure ... but we do know Dave Grohl loves to surpise his audiences so ...
