I like the use of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros’ song, “Home”.
LOUIS, a new silent film with live on-stage musical accompaniment by Wynton Marsalis and his 10-piece ensemble, plus acclaimed classical pianist Cecile Licad. Created by filmmaker Dan Pritzker and shot by Academy Award-winner Vilmos Zsigmond, LOUIS is set in sinful New Orleans in 1907.
This sweet, sultry film pays homage to Louis Armstrong, Charlie Chaplin, beautiful women, and the birth of the great American art form, jazz. This unusual performance is coming to the Strathmore on Saturday, August 28. Sorry no kids - the film is rated R.
