Dave Grohl Admits to Tearing Up at a Weezer Show; Reveals a New Foo Fighters Album Is On The Way

The jovial Weezer singer Rivers Cuomo was able to tug on the heart strings of Dave Grohl this past weekend at the Rock in Rio Festival this weekend.

During the band's set - they whipped out a cover of the Nirvana classic, Lithium:

Before the cover, Rivers announced, “We’re gonna cover a song from Dave Grohl’s old band to tide you over until the main course in a few minutes.”

Later in the night - when Foo Fighters took the stage - Grohl took a moment to express how he felt after the cover -

"Tonight I’m gonna dedicate this one to Weezer ... I was backstage and I heard Weezer play the ‘Lithium’ song. I gotta be honest, I cried a little bit. I did! I miss playing that song. I miss it, so I’m happy to hear Weezer play it again. So this one goes out to the sweet Weezer.”

The Foos then played Big Me:

Dave went on to announce that the Foo Fighters have a new album on the way -

“I don’t know when we’ll be back down here again, but we will... We go home next week and we start making a new Foo Fighters record. It’s good, it’s good.”
