It is no secret that The Killers singer Brandon Flowers is a big time fan of The Cars and Ric Ocasek.  The Killers have included covers of The Cars songs in their sets and Flowers made the induction speech when The Cars went into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  

 

When news spread of Ocasek's death - Flowers shared a note he had sent to Ric showing his gratitude -

At The Killers first show post Ocasek's death - the full band paid tribute to him - when in the in the middle of their song “All These Things That I’ve Done,” they launched into  “My Best Friend’s Girl,” playing pretty much the whole song!
